Trail #1: Parc de Séroule
The most beautiful park in Verviers, Parc de Séroule, is filled with lush woods, beautiful meadows, and a collection of ponds and streams. The estate dates back to the early 17th Century when it was owned by the noble de Goër de Herve family. After a revolt in 1790, the estate passed through a series of owners - from industrialists to a religious order - before finally being transferred to the public in the 1990s. With 10 hectares, the park has space for everyone - nature lovers, leisurely walkers, athletic joggers, adventurous dogs, football-playing kids, and families ready for collective rest and relaxation.
A 6.5km walk from BASHH (The Blue Ardenne Sustainability Home + Hub), with an ascent of 91m. This trail guides you across town, and can be easily combined with a rest stop at restaurant or café. See recommendations below.
